Testing photos for energy

Energy

In the future, human will generate the energy simply just by photosynthesis. Combine with the shadows that the structure will create, people moving in the structure will get different layers of shadows, and the membrane will adjust the sunlight level to control the amount of energy it’s giving.

Brief comments from Dave

22/05/09

After a short meeting with Dave, our bee mentor. He mentioned that all the things included the production of bees are followed by the law of bee society.
If we invite bees to play the important role in our future communication, we must obey their laws. Humans’ society could be changed in the future, but the law of bee society will be still the same.
In that case, to attract bees to find and pick our specific nano pollen, the attracted source that bees interested should be designed inside.
“How do we collect our nano pollen?” The question Dave asked could be a idea for our further design for communication.
For further design, we need to do research on bee pollen traps which “trap” bee pollen. After we collecting all the pollen from bees, we need to process all the pollens and find the specific pollen to get the information we need.
  • Production chain of bees:

  • We need to design the specific pollen that contains nano information as well as the source to attract bees to pick it up.

  • We need a pollen trap for pollen collection. And then human-beings need to process the specific pollen to get the information they demand.

Draft storyboard for Photograph&Video.

Preparation for 20/05/09 photograph session.

As we discussed, Jackie and me gathered all the different aspects of our design together and roughly sketched the storyboard for photographing and filming session tomorrow.

It briefly shows the idea of Architecture, Communication, Energy, Nutrition design for our "SWOON" group. We are now busy preparing things for shooting a series of photos tomorrow to express our ideas. Hope everything goes well.

Bees are coming.

Bees are coming!!!

I have been given several bees from bee mentor-David Carleton. Bees are kept in a little container. They are friendly and cute. What I need to do is take good care of our guests. I will try my best to keep them safe. Many thanks for his great help.
Also, with Ross’s help, I have gotten permission to access a photograph technician’s room for our photographing session tomorrow afternoon.

Photosynthesis

The photograph studio session with Antony, Jay & Jackie was done.

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, and some protistans use the energy from sunlight to produce sugar, which cellular reparation converts into ATP, the "fuel" used by all living things. The conversion of unusable sunlight energy into usable chemical energy, is associated with the actions of the green pigment chlorophyll. Most of the time, the photosynthetic process uses water and releases the oxygen that we absolutely must have to stay alive.

Plants are the only photosynthetic organisms to have leaves (and not all plants have leaves). A leaf may be viewed as a solar collector crammed full of photosynthetic cells.

The raw materials of photosynthesis, water and carbon dioxide, enter the cells of the leaf, and the products of photosynthesis, sugar and oxygen, leave the leaf.
